Our History
Personnel West began operation in 1992 to provide employment services for people with a disability in the Toowoomba community. This service was a new concept for many people and originated from funding available through the new Disability Services Program (Competitive Employment Training and Placement Services) from Department of Community Services and Health.
This department later changed to Department of Families and Community Services (DFaCS), although our funding model remained constant.
In 2005, the Disability Employment Program was moved from DFaCS to Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
Since our establishment, we have gained a reputation for excellence in the provision of employment services to both our clients and to local employers. Our focus is on placing people with a disability into suitable work, whilst ensuring that an appropriate job match is made for the employer’s vacancy.
