Quality Assurance

The new system of Quality Assurance introduced by the Commonwealth government, applies to all disability employment services and CRS Australia. It is based on a system of certification that is well established in Australian industry as part of the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ). The new system is independent of government.

The system has been designed to ensure people with a disability are involved in all aspects and stages of the process. Changes to the Disability Services Act 1986 came into effect from 1 July 2002. The legislation requires that all existing employment services will now either need to be certified, or have registered their intention to be certified by an agreed date.

The goal of the quality strategy is to ensure that people with disabilities can seek assistance and support from a range of Commonwealth-funded employment services certified against the Disability Services Standards.

These services will have shown they offer employment support and assistance to people with disabilities, enabling them to enjoy the same basic rights and opportunities generally available to all working Australians.
